Conrad (M.A, Creative Writing, Brown University) has taught in the Rhode Island prison system and as Writer-In-Residence at Lexington High School (Massachusetts) where she developed original curriculum for her method of writing autobiographical fiction. Conrad has used her booklet, Navigating the College Essay: The Write Way In To Your Top School to guide students through the process of writing their college essays.

She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and credits her full heart and enormous resilience, in large part, to twenty-five years of extended stays in Bali, Indonesia.
