About Donna Conrad —

Donna Ellen Conrad is a multi-genre writer, editor, and visual artist. She is a Pushcart Prize-nominated writer and Andre Dubus Award for Short Fiction finalist with an MA in poetry from Brown University. Her numerous, multi-genre publications include the illustrated children’s books HOW I SENT MY HUG AROUND THE WORLD and SEE YOU SOON MOON (Knopf, Child Magazine and Barnes and Noble “Best Children’s Books of the Year”), anthologized essays, poetry, and short stories in multiple literary magazines and the best-selling CUP OF COMFORT book series. She wrote and designed the children’s book HOW I SENT MY HUG AROUND THE WORLD, which is illustrated by the acclaimed Balinese artist Monez Gusmang.  Her other written works include screenplays (represented by the Gersh agency) and a forthcoming novel, Swimming to the Gods, presently a finalist for the St. Lawrence Book Award.

Conrad has taught at the Rhode Island College prison program, various private schools, and Lexington High School (Massachusetts) as Writer-In-Residence. Here, she developed original curriculum for English teachers to teach her method of autobiographical fiction-writing.

Donna is a mother and grandmother and lives in Bali, Indonesia and Los Angeles with her husband, world-renowned cinematographer Russell Carpenter (Titanic, Avatar), and her extended family.
